HERE Hackathon İzmir invites you to join in the spirit of hackathon by building that idea you’ve been thinking about and put together a working version to show the world.
On September 3-4, participants will trade their sleep to join like-minded people in a creative environment. You may work solo, come with a team or join one at the event to create an innovative software solution.
At the end of the event, teams demonstrate their projects to fellow hackers, visitors, and a panel of judges.
If you’d like to get a head-start on exploring what HERE has to offer developers, visit developer.here.com and access HERE data and services now.
If you’d like to join (or even just to show your support), sign up at this link.
May the best teams win!
First-Timers & Non-techs If you’re a first-timer or a concerned third party with non-tech skills, this is the perfect hackathon for you! As this is our first time doing this in İzmir, we are preparing everything from the scratch just to better answer your needs! If you’re coming without a team but looking to join one, we also host a team formation meetup at the start of the hacking period. Our mentors are also offering help as providing structure and project ideas, so you won’t get stuck in the initial idea phase if you’ve never hacked before!
We want you to focus on one or more of the following topics:
30 Hours
100+ Hackers
Top-notch mentors, workshops, goodies, cool prizes!
11 AM
Monday, September 3, 2018
Students, fresh graduates, developers, startups! Once applications have been reviewed, all applicants will be notified by email regarding the status of their application.
Admission is completely free.
You can form teams of up to 4 people or more . There are no restrictions for team members, so you can team up with hackers of any school, country, or experience level! You can also apply together as a team once you’ve started an individual application.
No worries! It’s helpful to have some programming or technical experience, but it’s not a requirement. We’ll have talks, mentors and workshops to help you with your project; hackathons can be great places to learn new skills in a short amount of time. Just come eager to learn, excited to meet lots of awesome people, and most importantly, come ready to build.
You can familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand! Oh, and the HERE APIs.
We will have introductory workshops to various HERE APIs, database and platform, plus a team formation session.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring an ID so we can verify and register you on-site! You’ll also need to bring a laptop whatever you feel might be necessary for development. We also recommend that you bring power strips for convenience.
If you have specific hardware in mind, bring it with you.
Do I need to stay the whole time?
Nope, we realize that 36 hours is a long time, you might have other commitments during that time. Feel free to stay and leave as you please. However, we would prefer that people stay to promote the environment.
A panel of some of the biggest names in tech ecosystem will evaluate hacks based on creativity, technical ease, design, and usefulness. The top 10 overall projects will demo what they have built in front of all of participants & jury. The best ranking 3 will qualify for the prizes.
Grrrr! We feel awful for that, so you should feel free to email us at semra.memis @here.com
